Real Madrid academy graduate Tiago Pitarque will remain with the club this summer and will be fully integrated into the first team. According to AS, head coach José Mourinho played a crucial role in this decision, as he plans to rely on the 19-year-old midfielder following his recovery from injury.
Fulham showed strong interest in the player, especially from their new coach, former Real Madrid assistant Álvaro Arbeloa. However, Pitarque chose to stay with Madrid. Even a serious knee injury sustained during the very first preseason training session, which sidelined him for six weeks, did not alter Mourinho’s plans. Pitarque will not be playing for Castilla but will immediately compete for a spot in Madrid’s defensive midfield role.
