Opta’s supercomputer predicts Tottenham Hotspur will be relegated from the Premier League this season following a historically poor start. The prolonged crisis that has plagued the Spurs for two consecutive seasons could ultimately result in their drop from the top flight.
According to the supercomputer’s forecast, Tottenham, currently bottom of the table after five rounds, is expected to finish 18th by the end of the campaign. The predictive model estimates the Spurs will accumulate 43.12 points, with a 29.39% chance of relegation.
Fulham and Coventry City also feature among the bottom three teams according to Opta’s projections.
Beyond relegation predictions, the Opta supercomputer has also forecasted the outcome of the Premier League title race. It anticipates Arsenal will claim the championship for the second season running—a feat the Gunners have never achieved in the Premier League era.
Last season, Arsenal ended a 22-year wait for the league title. Moreover, the London club has not won back-to-back English league championships since the 1930s, underscoring the significance of this potential accomplishment.
Opta’s forecast suggests the Gunners will finish with 75.91 points, just slightly ahead of Manchester City‘s projected 75.33 points. However, with 33 matches still remaining, plenty of surprises are likely, and the supercomputer’s predictions may well change as the season progresses.
