The opening match of today’s schedule at the 2026 World Cup features Portugal facing Uzbekistan. Kickoff is set for 17:00 UTC.
Portugal had a disappointing start to the tournament, drawing with DR Congo, so they are now focused solely on securing a win against the World Cup debutants. All eyes will be on Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal’s star player, who has yet to score in this World Cup and will have a prime chance to redeem himself after an underwhelming performance in the previous game.
For Uzbekistan, this match is crucial. A loss could effectively end their hopes of advancing to the knockout stages, putting immense pressure on Fabio Cannavaro’s side.
