Roberto Mancini, the head coach of the Italy national team, held his first press conference during the international break. Under his leadership, Italy has begun preparations for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against Turkey, France, and Belgium.
“I am here to win as soon as possible. Returning to this role has made me happy because I have many memories and a strong connection to the past, as shown by the numerous photos of victories and unforgettable moments hanging on the walls. I understand what the fans and others expect from us.
My goal is simple: I want to win, and to do that, we need a team that plays well and enjoys the game. We will strive to achieve both,” Mancini said, introducing himself during his second tenure as the national team coach.
It has been three years and three months since Mancini, the Euro 2021 winner, last served as Italy’s head coach.
