Sevilla has secured the transfer of Scottish striker Robbie Yure from Sirius. The 22-year-old forward successfully passed his medical examination today and signed a five-year contract.
The La Liga club paid €6.5 million for the player, with an additional €2.5 million in potential bonuses payable to Sirius.
Yure will become the third Scottish player in Sevilla’s history, following Ted McMinn in the 1980s and Duncan McVinnie Thomson during the 1915-16 season.
Last season, Robbie scored 20 goals and provided 3 assists in 20 appearances across all competitions in the Swedish league.
It was previously reported that Yure’s grandfather is Ukrainian, which sparked interest from the Ukrainian Football Association in his naturalization. However, in a recent interview with BBC Scotland, the striker stated he prefers to wait for a call-up from the Scotland national team.
