The 37-year-old World Cup winner is enjoying a remarkable spell with the Canadian club: in his debut season, he led the team to the MLS Cup final, and this season he has already netted 10 goals across all competitions.
Currently, Vancouver holds a commanding lead in the MLS Western Conference. Before the arrival of the former Bayern Munich forward, the Canadians had not finished in the top three of the regular season standings since the 2016/17 campaign. This new deal ensures that the two-time treble winner will continue to compete in his third season in American soccer.
