Rob Phillips, the well-known Welsh commentator, suffered a heart attack immediately after the match between Bolton and Cardiff City. After completing his work on the touchline and interviewing the visiting team’s manager, Phillips returned to the press box where he suddenly experienced severe chest pain.
Phillips had planned to drive home, but former Cardiff striker Nathan Blake, who was nearby, quickly recognized the seriousness of the situation and firmly forbade him from getting behind the wheel.
Although Rob hesitated, Nathan was adamant: “Rob, you’re completely pale. You’re not going anywhere—I won’t get in the car with you on the highway in this state!”
Thanks to Blake’s decisive intervention, the commentator received timely medical assistance right there at the stadium.
