Turkish club Trabzonspor continues its ambitious transfer strategy following the high-profile signing of Mohamed Salah and is now close to securing his former Liverpool teammate. Club vice-president Ibrahim Sahinkaya is heading to Saudi Arabia to negotiate with Al-Hilal’s management regarding the transfer of Darwin Núñez.
The 27-year-old Uruguayan striker has been sidelined for over a year in Saudi Arabia, even being left out of the squad list. The deal under discussion is a one-year loan, with Trabzonspor agreeing to cover 40 percent of Núñez’s salary while Al-Hilal will pay the remaining 60 percent. Earlier this summer, the club also acquired Ruslan Malinovskyi among eight other signings.
