Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick addressed the early substitution of Mason Mount during the friendly against PSG, which ended in a 1-1 draw. The midfielder was taken off just 20 minutes into the match, but Carrick reassured that there was no cause for serious concern.
“He just took a knock to the leg. We decided to be cautious and protect the player. We’ve been fortunate with injuries so far, so we didn’t want to take any risks. Overall, the preseason is going very well, and we are gradually building our fitness. It was great to see our fans in Scandinavia and draw energy from their support. It’s a pity we couldn’t secure a win, but the team showed plenty of positive signs,” the coach said, according to the club’s official statement.
