Viktor Tsygankov Linked with Move to MLS Side New York City FC
Girona and Ukraine midfielder Viktor Tsyhankov could be making a move to Major League Soccer. According to journalist Ihor Burbas, New York City FC has shown interest in the player.
“As far as I know, Girona is looking to get around €10 million for Tsyhankov. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be much demand for him in Spain’s La Liga at the moment. From what I gather, the most likely contenders for his signature right now are Trabzonspor, although it’s still early days for that,” Burbas explained.
“Another possibility is a move overseas. Tsyhankov might head across the Atlantic. New York City FC is part of the City Football Group, which also owns Girona, Manchester City, and several other clubs worldwide. They have teams in India, Australia, Italy (Palermo), Belgium, France (Troyes), and Brazil (Bahia),” he added on his YouTube channel.
It’s worth recalling that last season Girona, who also featured two other Ukrainians, Vanat and Krapovskyi, with Pishchur joining them this summer, were relegated from La Liga to the Segunda División.
