Vladyslav Vanat, the forward for Girona, addressed recent reports claiming he refused to come off the bench during the home opener of the Segunda División against Leganés in an interview with Tribuna.com.

“I was set to come on as a substitute and had already started putting on my gear. I was moments away from entering the pitch when our central defender got injured and needed to be replaced. The coaching staff decided to bring on a more defensive player since only one substitution remained.

Today, I spoke with the coach, who assured me that I bear no fault in this situation and that the press reports about me are false. He also addressed the entire team about this and confirmed that the club will inform the Spanish media accordingly.

I want to emphasize once again that, as a professional player, I was ready to enter the field, but circumstances changed, and the coach had to alter his decision,” Vanat explained.
