Tennis player Marta Kostyuk competed in the fourth round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Toronto. The Ukrainian was defeated by Polish player Iga Swiatek with a scoreline of 6-3, 1-6, 2-6. The match lasted 2 hours and 11 minutes.

“This victory means a lot to me. Marta is playing really well right now. She is in great form and winning many matches. I needed to step up my game, and I did. This was probably one of my best matches of the season, so I’m happy,” Swiatek said.

This was the fifth meeting between the two players. Marta Kostyuk trails the head-to-head series 1-4 against Swiatek.
