Ukrainian tennis player Darya Snigur was unable to advance to the round of 16 at Wimbledon, where she was set to face compatriot Marta Kostyuk.
Snigur fell to American Ashlyn Krueger in straight sets, 3-6, 2-6.
As a result, there will be no all-Ukrainian clash in the next round. Krueger will now take on Ukraine’s second-ranked player Marta Kostyuk, who earlier today defeated fellow Ukrainian Emma Navarro 6-2, 4-6, 6-1.
It’s worth recalling that Snigur caused an upset at the start of the tournament by beating Ukraine’s top player Elina Svitolina 7-5, 6-2.
