Hungary Coach Rossi Reflects on Scoring Struggles Despite Win Over Georgia
Hungary’s national team coach Marko Rossi shared his thoughts on his team’s performance in yesterday’s UEFA Nations League match against Georgia. The Hungarians secured a 1-0 victory thanks to a goal from Miloš Kerkez in the 35th minute.
“I am satisfied with the result, but considering the number of chances we created, it’s hard to believe we scored only one goal in three games. However, that’s the reality. We played brilliantly except for the last 10 minutes when Dominik Szoboszlai left the field.
Georgia has 10 players from top European leagues; they are a strong and capable team. We needed a second goal because we could have conceded at the very end, but in the end, we won thanks to our supporters. We deserved the three points.
Our defense performed well, but we need to finish better in attack since we had four clear chances and converted only one. At this level, that is not enough.
Since June, we have introduced about ten new players who need time to adapt, which unfortunately we do not have. They are not used to this kind of pressure, especially those coming from the Hungarian league.
Now we need to recover because in three days we face a tough match against Ukraine,” Rossi told Sportall.ge.
