AC Milan coach Ruben Amorim expressed his disappointment following his team’s heavy defeat to Chelsea in a friendly match. The Rossoneri were convincingly beaten, conceding three goals.
“We knew today would require some hard work, but we wanted to challenge the players,” Amorim told Sky Sport Italia.
“Chelsea know how to defend as a unit, excel in one-on-one situations, and apply intense high pressing. Against teams like Chelsea, we will never press that aggressively, but we are here to prepare for winning our first official match of the season and to build confidence among our players.
Additionally, we fielded many young players, so this is part of the process to integrate them into the squad and prepare them for victory in the opening official fixture of the season.
We will make decisions regarding which players to sell. These two weeks of training have been very positive, but we have a large squad, so we need to choose a few players, and we will make those decisions next week,” Amorim concluded.
