The first semifinal of the EuroLeague Super Cup featured the winners of the last two seasons: Fenerbahce and Olympiacos. The Greek side secured a narrow victory with a final score of 92-90.
“This particular match felt like a playoff game. Both teams were ready to compete, and we must acknowledge that Fenerbahce played very well, especially with their high three-point shooting percentage.
They have strong defenders who can easily capitalize on opportunities. We didn’t have good defense in this specific game, and we lacked many blocks. Our offense gave us the necessary confidence, and we scored several easy baskets,” said Giorgos Bartzokas.
“We saw potential. We reached a +10 lead four times, but here you play against Final Four-level teams.
You can’t stop playing, but that’s exactly what we did,” summarized Šarūnas Jasikevičius.
