After spending nearly a week in Vitoria, it appears that his foot injury continues to trouble him. The center has missed the Supercup in Badalona, leaving the team significantly weakened just two days before their first EuroLeague game against Olympiacos in Vitoria.
There was widespread surprise when he failed to show up at Foronda Airport on Friday to travel to Badalona for the Supercup.
“He is not here, I can’t say more… he is not here,” confirmed a frustrated Paolo Galbiati at the terminal. Days have passed without any updates on his situation, and he has yet to be officially introduced by the club.
It seems that if he does not recover, his contract will not be finalized. According to sporting director Félix Fernández, he underwent the necessary medical examinations. These tests were reportedly focused, among other things, on detecting any potential foot injuries. However, he was unable to complete his first training session and did not travel to the Supercup.
Paolo Galbiati is scheduled to face the media on Wednesday at 07:30 UTC. One of the first questions will undoubtedly concern the Ukrainian center. If he does not play against Olympiacos, it would not be surprising if he leaves the team in the near future.
