Crvena Zvezda has been in talks with NBA representatives regarding a potential involvement in a European league project, but the club currently prioritizes competing in the EuroLeague. This was revealed by the president of the Serbian club, Željko Drčelić, who also announced that the club’s budget for the next season will be 20 million euros.
“There have been contacts. The most important thing is for the NBA to clearly decide whether there is a place for Serbian clubs in this project. So far, I have not heard that,” Drčelić stated.
Despite negotiations with the NBA, Crvena Zvezda intends to continue striving to maintain their status as a permanent participant in the EuroLeague. At present, the club holds a temporary license without voting rights or the ability to receive revenue as co-owners of the league.
