The Sacramento Kings have signed point guard Elfrid Payton.
Payton was selected 10th overall in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. He is well-known for his ability to record triple-doubles. In March 2019, while playing for the New Orleans Pelicans, Payton became only the fifth player in NBA history to achieve a triple-double in five consecutive games.
Before him, this feat had been accomplished only by Wilt Chamberlain, Oscar Robertson, Michael Jordan, and Russell Westbrook.
The 32-year-old Payton missed the entire last season. His most recent appearances were in 2025, representing the New Orleans Pelicans and the Charlotte Hornets.
