Three-time NBA champion to continue his career at a top Chinese club
Veteran center JaVale McGee has signed a contract with the Chinese club Shanghai Sharks.
Previously, the club reached an agreement with D’Angelo Russell. Throughout their careers, McGee and Russell have both played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, and Dallas Mavericks, but they were never teammates at the same time.
McGee won NBA championships with the Warriors in 2017 and 2018. He also lifted the Larry O’Brien Trophy with the Lakers during the 2019/20 season.
The 38-year-old big man last appeared in the NBA in the 2023/24 season. Since then, he has played for clubs in Puerto Rico, Australia, and China.
The Shanghai Sharks are the reigning champions of the Chinese Basketball Association.
