Tofaş secured a narrow 90-89 victory over Bandırma in the opening game of the Turkish Championship.
The winning moment came from an extraordinary buzzer-beater by Yiğitcan Saybir. After Quentin Peterson missed a free throw, Saybir grabbed the rebound and scored from practically under his own basket.
Saybir finished as the top scorer for his team with 18 points, while Peterson led the visitors with 31 points.
Peterson, who played for MBK Mykolaiv during the 2019/20 season, was the leading scorer of the Superleague that year.
