James Johnson, the 39-year-old forward, has signed a non-guaranteed contract with the Indiana Pacers.
Johnson was selected 16th overall in the 2009 NBA Draft. Since 2022, he has been playing for the Indiana Pacers and last appeared on the court during the 2025 NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
After taking a year off, Johnson has not officially announced his retirement. With Tyrise Haliburton returning to the Pacers lineup following injury, the veteran forward still has a chance to make the team roster as the franchise aims to become competitive again in the upcoming season.
