Victor Wembanyama opened up about his emotional struggles following the San Antonio Spurs‘ loss in the NBA Finals series.
“I had several sleepless nights. Well, not entirely sleepless—sometimes it was hard to fall asleep, and other times I was overwhelmed by complex emotions. But at some point, you realize you have to go through it and truly feel it all.
We don’t want to hide from anything. We will face these emotions head-on and accept the reality that we have to play over 100 games. That’s the reality,” the French center said during the Spurs’ media day.
Over the six games of the Finals, Victor averaged 39.7 minutes on the court, scoring 26.0 points and grabbing 11.2 rebounds per game.
