UEFA has confirmed the refereeing team for the upcoming UEFA Nations League match between Ukraine and Northern Ireland.
The match will be officiated by 34-year-old Belgian referee Jasper Vergoote. His assistants will be fellow Belgians Michael Geerolf and Martijn Tisters. The fourth official is Lothar D’Hondt. The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) duties will be handled by Jan Boterberg with assistant Wesley De Cremer, both also from Belgium.
Jasper Vergoote is a relatively new referee on the international stage, having earned his FIFA badge only in 2022. He officiated his first senior international friendly in August 2024, and his first competitive international match followed in November 2024, overseeing the Norway vs. Kazakhstan fixture which ended 5-0.
The Nations League encounter between Ukraine and Northern Ireland is scheduled to take place on October 2 at the Anton Malatinsky Stadium in Trnava. Kickoff is set for 18:45 UTC.
