Paris Basketball club has officially announced the departure of Julius Thomas, bringing an end to his two-and-a-half-year tenure with the team.
Thomas initially joined Paris as an assistant coach before being promoted to deputy head coach. He later took over as interim head coach following Francesco Tabellini’s exit at the end of March.
The 28-year-old guided the Parisians to a 3-2 record in the EuroLeague and led the team to the French League final, where they fell to Monaco in a best-of-five series.
During his time in charge, Thomas became the youngest head coach in EuroLeague history, and his first victory made him the youngest coach ever to win a EuroLeague game.
“We would like to thank him for his journey at the club and wish him all the best in the future,” read the farewell statement from Paris Basketball.
According to various media reports, the 28-year-old coach has received multiple offers from NBA clubs looking to strengthen their coaching staffs.
