Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard is willing to extend his contract only if traded to either the Toronto Raptors or the San Antonio Spurs, according to insider Jake Fischer.
Leonard prefers to stay in Los Angeles but acknowledges the likelihood of a trade. The 35-year-old forward has one year remaining on his current contract, which carries a salary of $50.3 million, after which he will become a free agent.
He is not interested in signing long-term deals with the Detroit Pistons or Miami Heat, teams that have reportedly sought to acquire him via trade. Leonard, a two-time NBA champion with the Spurs and Raptors, is open to returning to those franchises; however, only the Raptors have shown definite interest in the player.
