Alexander Yatsyk: I Was Eager to Transfer, and It Happened
Newcomer of Kharkiv, Alexander Yatsyk, gave his first interview as a player of the “citizens”. In the interview with the club’s press service, the footballer shared his emotions about the transfer, recalled working together with Mladen Bartulovic, and addressed the fans.
– There have long been rumors in the media that Alexander Yatsyk was moving to Metalist 1925, and now to Football Club Kharkiv. Lift the curtain for us and all the fans: how long ago did the club’s interest appear? How long did you consider it?
– The serious interest appeared two years ago. Back then, Bogdan Boyko called me and offered to join Metalist 1925. I really liked the idea at that time; he told me how the club would develop, what ambitions it had, and they matched my ambitions.
– Why do you think this transfer campaign took so long?
– I don’t know, that’s not really a question for me. I really wanted to move, it happened, and now I’m here.
– Again in the same team with Mladen Bartulovic. He was also the initiator of this transfer. Have you talked with the coach? What did you discuss?
– Yes, we talked. He said he counts on me, but everything will depend on how I work.
– Did you discuss your tactical interaction on the field with teammates? How does he see you, how does he want to use and integrate you into the team?
– No, we haven’t talked about that yet. I think we’ll go to a meeting and there will be time for that.
– It’s worth watching your old goals for Zorya. It was noticeable that when you celebrated, you very often ran to Mladen Bartulovic. Can we conclude that you have such warm relations?
– Yes, I felt very comfortable working with him. You could say he revealed me in adult football.
– Now there is a very media-attractive topic – the club’s rebranding. You transferred, it seemed, to Metalist 1925, but ended up in Football Club Kharkiv. What do you think about the changes in colors, emblem, and overall? Your emotions and thoughts on this?
– I really like the new emblem, very beautiful colors, similar to Rome’s Roma, I like it.
– And which footballers, now your teammates, do you possibly have a close friendship or communicate with?
– Ilya Krupskiy called me as soon as he found out I was going to transfer. We had a warm conversation, I told him: “See you at Football Club Kharkiv.”
– What goals do you set for yourself this season? Maybe you can also name personal or team goals?
– Let it be a surprise for the fans.
– Then address our fans. What greeting and message do you want to send them?
– I want to tell the fans that I will give 100 percent and do everything so that the team wins and achieves positive results.
– Football Club Kharkiv is very ambitious, sets high goals, and is strengthening. Do you understand that there will be quite strong competition in the squad? Are you ready for it?
– Yes, I think I am ready. I had good competition in my previous club too – I’m not afraid of it.
