With the victory, Magomedov extended his unbeaten record and further strengthened his case as one of PFL’s rising lightweight contenders. Defeating a seasoned opponent like Angel Alvarez in such convincing fashion sends a clear message to the rest of the division that he’s ready for bigger challenges. Alvarez showed plenty of heart and had moments of success early, but over the course of the fight, Magomedov’s wrestling, composure, and relentless top pressure proved to be the difference.
