Andre Onana Set for Second Loan Season at Trabzonspor from Manchester United
Manchester United is finalizing the loan deal to send goalkeeper Andre Onana back to Trabzonspor. The Cameroonian international will spend a second consecutive season at the Turkish club, as Old Trafford no longer counts on him due to the outstanding performances of Senne Lammens, who has established himself as the team’s first-choice keeper.
According to the Daily Mail, the two clubs are close to reaching an agreement. Onana had a successful campaign in Turkey last season, culminating in winning the Turkish Cup in May. While the English side initially considered selling the goalkeeper, arranging another loan proved to be the most practical option. Michael Carrick’s squad has no intention of bringing back a player earning £120,000 per week, even as a backup, in order to avoid unnecessary tension within the dressing room.
