Atletico Madrid continued their preparations for the upcoming La Liga season with an away friendly against French side Olympique de Marseille.
The match ended in a 2-1 victory for Atletico. Marseille took the lead in the 22nd minute through Igor Paixao. However, before halftime, Rodrigo Mendoza leveled the score for the visitors. The winning goal came in the 78th minute when Atletico’s striker Carlos Martin found the net.
It is worth noting that Julian Alvarez, who is reportedly eager to move from Atletico to Barcelona, was not included in the Madrid squad for this game.
