Thomas Tuchel Embraces Pragmatic 2-0 Win Over Czech Republic
England head coach Thomas Tuchel responded with irony to a journalist’s criticism following his team’s 2-0 away victory over the Czech Republic in the Nations League. The journalist described the performance as “unattractive football.”
“Sometimes I actually enjoy those unattractive results,” Tuchel replied. “Sometimes you just need to leave the stadium with a 2-0 win, have a calm evening, and move on. You can’t always be flashy and super exciting. Sometimes you just have to work hard.”
Tuchel believes his side executed their game plan perfectly during the match:
“In the second half, we played very professionally. We needed to be more dynamic and sharper, and we stepped up our intensity, maintaining it until the final whistle. We secured an important victory, and it was fully deserved.”
