According to insiders, Alejandro Grimaldo’s transfer from Bayer Leverkusen to Atlético Madrid is nearing completion. The Spanish club is set to pay €12 million for the left-back.
Grimaldo is expected to sign a contract running until 2029, with an option to extend through 2030.
This season, Grimaldo has emerged as one of the Bundesliga’s standout performers, netting 14 goals and providing 12 assists from his defensive position on the left flank.
However, with his contract approaching its expiration, his market value was significantly reduced, a factor compounded by the player’s own desire to leave Bayer Leverkusen.
