Turkey’s Bardakci sets World Cup record with 98 perfect passes vs Paraguay
Turkey international Abdülkerim Bardakçı set a new World Cup record for passing accuracy during his team’s clash with Paraguay. The defender completed an impressive 98 passes, all of which were accurate.
This feat marks the highest percentage of completed passes—100% accuracy—by any player in the FIFA World Cup since 1966.
Interestingly, the previous record was held by United States player Chris Richards, who completed all 84 of his passes in a match against Paraguay just one week earlier.
However, the outcomes for these records differed significantly: while the USA secured a victory, Turkey lost the match and was eliminated from the tournament.
