Bodø/Glimt secured their place in the Champions League qualifying playoff round after a thrilling second-leg victory over Union Saint-Gilloise. Following a 3-3 draw in Belgium, the Norwegian side triumphed 3-2 after extra time on home soil.
The hosts broke the deadlock in the 51st minute with a stunning long-range strike from Ole Didrik Blomberg. However, Union Saint-Gilloise equalized ten minutes later. Bodø/Glimt quickly regained the lead when Jens Petter Hauge capitalized on a rebound after goalkeeper saved Andreas Helmersen’s shot. Yet, in the dying moments of regular time, the Belgian team scored another impressive goal to force extra time. Ultimately, Helmersen sealed the win for Bodø/Glimt late in extra time.
In the Champions League qualifying playoff, Bodø/Glimt will face Dutch side NEC Nijmegen.
