Bukayo Saka Trains Separately Ahead of England’s Ghana Match
England winger Bukayo Saka missed the team’s group training session ahead of their match against Ghana. The Arsenal player trained indoors on an individual programme due to ongoing Achilles tendon issues that have troubled him since March.
In England’s opening game against Croatia, Saka came off the bench and provided an assist. Head coach Thomas Tuchel emphasized the need to manage the player’s fitness carefully at the start of the tournament: “I believe he will be fully fit by the final group match.”
It is expected that Saka will unlikely start against Ghana in Boston, as the coaching staff are preserving the midfielder for the crucial knockout stages of the World Cup.
