Carlo Ancelotti: Neymar Earned Spot, Played in Brazil’s Win Over Scotland
Brazil national team head coach Carlo Ancelotti commented on the debut of five-time champion winger Neymar in the match against Scotland. The game ended with a 3-0 victory for the South American side, with Neymar coming on as a substitute and playing for 12 minutes.
“Neymar earned the chance to play because he deserved it. He has worked very hard and shown great professionalism in his recovery training,” Ancelotti said, according to Brazilian sources.
It is worth noting that Neymar began the World Cup carrying an unresolved injury but returned to full training on the eve of the match against Scotland. Injuries have plagued the once most expensive player in the world over recent years, severely impacting his career and diminishing the level of football he has been able to display.
