Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick reflected on the team’s summer preparations following their 2-4 defeat against Milan in the final friendly match. Despite a disappointing end to the preseason and some squad issues, the Red Devils’ manager expressed confidence that the squad is fully prepared for the upcoming league campaign.
“We are disappointed with today’s result and acknowledge that we played poorly. There are reasons behind it, but no excuses can be made; we need to learn and improve. Overall, though, we are ready for next week. The players have put in tremendous work during training, and these minutes on the pitch will only benefit them. We maintain a strong mindset ahead of the season opener,” Carrick stated.
