Siaron Brown, who scored for the Northern Ireland national team, spoke to BBC Sport about yesterday’s 3-0 victory over Ukraine in the UEFA Nations League.
“It’s incredible. I had been waiting a very long time for my first goal for the national team, and to score two in one evening was something I never expected. I’m just thrilled.
Regarding my goals, the first came when I moved into the penalty area for a cross and simply pushed the ball into the net. For the second, I tried to head the ball towards goal, and somehow it ended up in the back of the net.
The last two matches have really boosted our defense and the entire team’s confidence. Keeping clean sheets in three consecutive games is something we’re very proud of,” Brown commented.
