Fabrizio Romano has reported that Como has made a preliminary offer to potentially sign Liam Delap from Chelsea. The 23-year-old striker is among the players Chelsea is willing to sell during the final weeks of the summer transfer window.
Delap has not lived up to expectations since his move to Stamford Bridge from Ipswich Town last year. He has managed just three goals and five assists across 47 appearances in all competitions.
It is clear that he does not fit into Xabi Alonso‘s plans at Chelsea. However, Cesc Fàbregas, Alonso’s former Spain national team teammate who currently manages Como, sees Delap as a strong option to bolster the Serie A club’s attacking lineup.
