Donald Trump Highlights Record Attendance and TV Ratings at World Cup 2026
US President Donald Trump has highlighted record-breaking figures at the 2026 World Cup. According to him, the tournament, primarily hosted in the United States, has already set new attendance and television viewership records.
“As you know, America has proudly been hosting the World Cup over the past few weeks. It is breaking attendance records and TV ratings like never before. Who would have thought this would happen! People say it’s not our main sport, but it’s happening,” Trump told USA TODAY.
He also took the opportunity to pay tribute to his close friend:
“I want to congratulate my friend — FIFA President Gianni Infantino. It’s been fantastic working with him. He’s very pleased, with constant record-breaking figures, as if every day is a Super Bowl. And I know everyone will join me in wishing the US team good luck in their match against Turkey in Los Angeles. They’re doing great.”
