Egypt Coach Proud of Undefeated Run After World Cup Group Stage Draw
Hossam Hassan, head coach of the Egyptian national team, reflected on his squad’s 1-1 draw against Iran. This result secured Egypt’s second-place finish in Group G and advanced them to the Round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup.
“We remained unbeaten throughout the group stage, and that is something we are very proud of. From the outset, I said this group would be challenging. It is a great honor for us to reach the World Cup knockout phase. I want to thank my players because they have brought immense joy to our fans,” Hassan said.
He added, “I am not thinking about our next opponent; we are ready to face anyone. We have the ability to play our own style of football, adapt as needed, and respect every rival. We will not fear anyone,” the coach’s remarks were quoted by FIFA’s official website.
