Frattesi Explains Emotional Return to Lazio After Inter Loan Move
Davide Frattesi has completed his transfer from Inter to Lazio, a move he describes as a return home to the club where he spent his childhood. The clubs agreed on a paid loan deal worth 5 million euros, with an option to buy set at 10 million euros.
For Frattesi, who passed through Lazio’s academy as a child before moving to Roma, this transfer carries deep emotional significance.
“When I arrived, I recognized the streets I used to walk as a kid when training at Giustiniana. I’m coming back with a different sense of responsibility and greater maturity. I believe it’s time to take on important duties, and I do so with great pleasure.
At Inter, I had a good relationship with the fans, even though I played little. Now I need to feel at the heart of a project again—and such a warm welcome at the new club really inspires me,” he said.
Frattesi also revealed that a move back to Lazio was possible earlier this year.
“In January, we were quite close to completing the deal, but for various reasons it didn’t happen,” he explained. “This time I was informed just a few days ago; it was only a matter of deciding and settling the formalities. I had no major doubts.”
