Gonçalo Ramos Praises Portugal’s Performance Without Ronaldo After Denmark Win
Gonçalo Ramos, the forward for the Portugal national team, shared his thoughts in an interview with RTP following their 4-2 away victory over Denmark in the UEFA Nations League. Notably, Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal’s captain, missed the match after leaving the squad unilaterally due to a dispute with the head coach.
“First and foremost, our new coach, Jorge Jesus, has been a great help to us. We now have a clearer understanding of the team’s dynamics; we know exactly where each teammate should be, both defensively and offensively. This was evident in today’s game as well as in our recent matches. We are improving day by day, and this is all part of the process. We are very pleased with the win, especially against such a strong opponent.
I also really enjoy playing this way. It suits my style well, and we often regain possession in dangerous areas. It’s always satisfying to score, contribute, and provide assists, as I did. But the most important thing is the victory. We have many quality players, and the coach has plenty of options,” Ramos told UEFA’s official website.
