Former striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has played for Milan, Inter, Juventus, Barcelona, Manchester United, and PSG, believes that Mexico has displayed the best football of any team at the World Cup so far.
“They play with high intensity, both in attack and defense. From the first minutes, they showed who was in charge of the game, scoring two goals. In the second half, they just needed to slightly reduce the pace, and they secured the win. Mexico has had the best performance in the tournament up to this point,” Ibrahimovic told Fox Sports.
It is worth noting that Mexico has yet to concede a goal at the World Cup, winning all four of their matches. Their latest victory came yesterday against Ecuador with a 2-0 scoreline, which secured their place in the round of 16 as the host nation.
