Jamal Musiala to Miss Germany’s World Cup Match Against Ecuador
Germany’s midfielder Jamal Musiala will miss the final group stage match of the 2026 World Cup against Ecuador, scheduled for June 25.
Journalist Florian Plettenberg revealed that this decision was made jointly by Musiala and Germany’s head coach Julian Nagelsmann. To manage the player’s workload, the 23-year-old midfielder will be given rest.
The same source confirmed that Deniz Undav will start in Musiala’s position.
It is worth noting that three other German players—Braun, Karl, and Schlotterbeck—will also miss the match due to injuries.
The game against Ecuador will take place on June 25, with kickoff set for 20:00 UTC. Germany has already secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup playoffs ahead of this fixture.
