Jose Mourinho Criticizes 2026 World Cup Quality, Watches Few Matches
While millions of fans are glued to the planet’s biggest football tournament, José Mourinho has admitted that he barely watches the matches. The Portuguese coach believes that the expansion of participating teams has led to a noticeable decline in the quality of football, with the group stage featuring too many lopsided scorelines. The only exception he mentioned was the exciting clash between Brazil and Morocco.
Explaining his reluctance to watch the games, Mourinho said: “Listen, I have to be honest. Some matches, after 10 minutes, I just turn them off. It’s impossible, 7-1, 5-1. This is the World Cup!”
Instead of staying up late to watch, the Portuguese manager preferred to enjoy a good dinner and get some sleep. However, he suggested that the situation might change once the knockout rounds begin, when the standard of matches is expected to rise.
