Juventus has reached a preliminary agreement on personal terms with Bologna defender John Lukumi. The Colombian player is set to sign a five-year contract, with the two Italian clubs now needing to finalize the transfer fee.
According to Tuttosport, Lukumi consistently prioritized Juventus at the top of his wishlist. He was determined to join the Bianconeri despite offers from Chelsea and Manchester United.
It is reported that Lukumi turned down significantly more lucrative financial proposals from the English Premier League. Nottingham Forest was reportedly willing to pay him around 1 million euros more per year before taxes, but the Colombian opted for a five-year deal with Juventus worth 2.5 million euros annually plus bonuses.
Goal notes that for the central defender, the sporting aspect of the move outweighed the additional financial incentives. The appeal of joining a bigger club, competing in European tournaments, and staying in Italy ultimately influenced his final decision.
Additionally, Bologna will feature Ukrainian forward Artem Dovbik in the 2026/27 season, who has joined on a one-year loan from Roma.
