Germany head coach Jürgen Klopp compared his situation ahead of his Nations League debut to that of the Netherlands’ manager Xavi Hernandez. Klopp highlighted that he personally knows a larger number of players from both teams.
“I personally know more players than Xavi, including several from the Netherlands national team. I’m not sure if that’s an advantage, but it is a fact,” Klopp stated.
The upcoming match between Germany and the Netherlands will take place at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam and marks the first competitive fixture for both coaches leading their national sides.
“The positive thing is that we are actually in the same situation,” Klopp remarked regarding their preparations for the game.
Historically, Germany and the Netherlands have met 48 times. The Germans have secured 18 victories, 18 matches ended in draws, and the Dutch have won 12 encounters.
