Cristiano Ronaldo will continue representing the Portugal national team at the age of 41. Ahead of the new UEFA Nations League campaign, the forward opened up about the criticism he has faced.
Speaking at the Portugal Football Summit, Ronaldo candidly addressed the reactions to his performances, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.
“I can’t be completely honest. I have to be politically correct. I often say that I have always been very well received, but this year I have felt an especially strong wave of love. I understand that some media outlets try to kill me. But that can only be done with a gun. And even then, I will dodge the bullet,” the Portuguese star said.
The captain of the Portugal national team also did not rule out that this season might be the last of his career.
