Laporta Confirms Camp Nou Renovation Will Complete by 2028
Barcelona president Joan Laporta expressed his excitement over the club’s stadium, Camp Nou, being selected to host the 2029 UEFA Champions League final. He assured that the renovation of the arena will be fully completed by that time.
“We are incredibly proud that our stadium will host the Champions League final in 2029. This is UEFA’s recognition of our world-class venue, highlighting the scale and ambition of our project. Our goal is for the renovated Camp Nou to be fully ready for the 2028/29 season,” Laporta stated.
The stadium’s reconstruction began in June 2022. Initially, the work was scheduled to finish by autumn 2024, but delays have pushed back the completion date, and the project remains unfinished. The estimated cost of the renovation is around 1.5 billion euros.
